The old abandonned site du Parc was part of the history around the family Bosteels-De Smeth who started the company du Parc around 1875 and produced socks and stockings. Business went well and continually grew until the early 60’s when du Parc counted almost 1.000 employees. In the 80’s, things got worse for du Parc. With the relocation of most of the textile factories towards countries with low labor cost, du Parc was unable to remain competetive which lead in 2001 to bankruptcy.
